I decided ahead of time to add an extra element to the game. After the first round, where the two teams get into position for the coming battle, I was going to introduce a Sentinel Mark II to attack all mutants. I worked it out so that if any one die showed a six or one during the deployment phase, the Sentinel would land and begin attacking. I even broke out the old Ultimate Sentinels to help (same deployment rules for these four figures as well).
The Sentinel attacked and KO'd Vet Iceman and Fabian Cortez. The X-Men rolled a six with their next deployment & and an Ultimate Sentinel entered and based Cable. The Sentinel Mark II took some damage. The Villains added another Sentinel via a one in their deployment. The Sentinel hit Magneto for serious damage and KO'd First Class Iceman. Making use of Mastermind's & White Queen's outwit, the villains hit the Sentinel hard.
The X-men, via another six, added another Ultimate Sentinel (being used mostly as tie-up pieces) and attacked the Sentinel for some damage. This left the Sentinel on its Pulse Wave click, which it used. This attack hit eight pieces with damage. The next attack against the Sentinel by the Villains left it on its regeneration click. It rolled a six of "regen" and powered back up.
It was not going to be easy, though, because of a great placement of Harry Leland. The X-men's charge, Hypersonic & Running Shot were all useless. Psylocke had to TK Colossus around Leland so he could charge in with a heavy object and clobber Sabertooth. That attack was a total of six damage. Sabertooth was gone in the next round and the game's tide had turned. Although Magneto was still on the map, he was severely weakened. The White Queen's Psychic Blast was able to all but KO Vet Cyclops, but the numbers were in the X-Men's favor.
The last villain left on the map, appropriately, was Mastermind. He his throughout the game using his outwit & incapacitate to constantly do 1 click of damage from the shadows. However, when he pushed Cable onto his hypersonic click, the game was over. The heroes won the day making it safe for humans to continue hating and fearing them. Go, X-Men!
