November 10: round one of Solo Gaming Day

Following JF's deployment rules, I decided to try my hand at some solo heroclix games.  Round 1 was going to be the new version of X-Force vs The Hellfire Club. The power and stealthy ability of the new team, led by the deadly Wolverine (he's the best at what he does) had me confident in the hero's ability to sneak in and cut the villains into charcoal brickettes.
The villains, sporting the classic Black King from Armor Wars of the golden age clix had some potential, but the older figures don't often hold up so well against the new pieces.  Even so, I was willing to play the game.

Wolverine moved in first and told the other characters to hold back while he took care of business.  The Black King stormed forward, picking up a heavy object on the way.  Wolverine was poised to slice the King, but Sebastian Shaw struck first dealing 5 damage to Wolverine.  Trevor Fitzroy followed with 2 pints of damage and The Wolverine was out!

The X-Force team, leaderless, struggled through the rest of the game. Deadpool joked hid way through several rounds, but was also knocked out by the Black King as was Psylocke & Wolfsbane.  On the way to this rout, the Hellfire club was reinforced twice adding Tarot & Roulette from Ms. Frost's school. Not only that, Frost & the Hellfire Club Guard were returned to play leaving only Archangel against foes when time ran out.

Archangel survives and move into round 2.

The Black King and his club march confidently into the next round.
